Pro

Install Pro, Pro

Add the Pro registry to your project with your token, then install Pro blocks with the shadcn CLI or through shadcn's MCP server.

Pro blocks have their own registry, @dashboardblocks-pro. You install them with the shadcn CLI, like the free blocks, and the CLI sends your token with every request.

Add the registry

Add @dashboardblocks-pro to the registries in your components.json:

components.json
{
  "registries": {
    "@dashboardblocks": "https://www.dashboardblocks.com/r/{style}/{name}.json",
    "@dashboardblocks-pro": {
      "url": "https://www.dashboardblocks.com/r/pro/{style}/{name}.json",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer ${DASHBOARDBLOCKS_TOKEN}"
      }
    }
  }
}

Keep the www in both URLs. A redirect to another host drops the token.

Add your token

Your token comes with All-Access: once you have it, create the token on your account page. Put your token in .env.local, next to components.json. The CLI reads it from there:

.env.local
DASHBOARDBLOCKS_TOKEN=dbp_…

Keep .env.local out of git. In CI, set DASHBOARDBLOCKS_TOKEN as a secret instead.

Without the token, the CLI stops and names DASHBOARDBLOCKS_TOKEN. With a wrong one, it says the token isn't valid. After you rotate or revoke your token on your account page, the old one stops working at once and the CLI says it was revoked: put your new token in .env.local and your CI secret, creating one first if you revoked it. If your account no longer has All-Access, after a refund for example, the CLI says so.

Install

Install a block by name. Pro items install the free and Pro items they need with them:

npx shadcn@latest add @dashboardblocks-pro/filter-builder-01

Through an agent

shadcn's MCP server reads the same components.json and .env.local. Once you've done the steps above, your agent can search Pro blocks next to the free ones, read their code and install them. Connect it as the MCP server page shows, then name the registry in your request:

  • Find a Pro block in @dashboardblocks-pro for filtering a table, and add it to the customers page.
  • Show me what's in @dashboardblocks-pro.

If the agent says DASHBOARDBLOCKS_TOKEN is missing, check that .env.local is in the folder you started the agent from, then restart the agent.

Compose a dashboard

Compose a dashboard is a skill for Claude Code and other coding agents that read skills from .agents/skills/. Ask for a page such as "a revenue dashboard for our Stripe data", and the agent plans the page from the free and Pro blocks that fit your data, puts it in an app shell, installs the blocks and wires them to your data, then looks at the page and fixes what falls short. Install it once, after the steps above:

npx shadcn@latest add @dashboardblocks-pro/compose-dashboard

It installs into your project's .claude/skills/ and .agents/skills/ folders.
